Just returned from my 5th massage for a tension headache in the back of my head. I could finally feel some muscle release so that my left arm seems to be hanging down to my knees. Hopefully, that means that the pain will lessen. I've been attached to a heating pad for the past 3 weeks
I'm trying a new therapy for episodes of nerve pain I've been experiencing just below my left shoulder blade for nearly 35 years. I've had 3 injections in the nerve ending 3 months apart. The jury is still out as to whether this will have any effect or not. Supposedly the results are cumulative, so maybe I just need to be patient (no pun intended).
This sounds like an interesting option for anxiety and sleep problems.
After watching everyone I know suffer with the flu this winter, I finally got it myself last Saturday. The first day was a sore throat, the second day was sinus pain in my face, the third day I was freezing cold, the fourth day all the congestion and the fever began. As usual, the flu is making my fibro symptoms worse. I hurt everywhere especially when I cough. I finally got up and took a bath this morning. I couldn't stand myself anymore. I don't feel much better, but at least I'm socially acceptable. And this too shall pass!

I was privileged to participate in the NFA's Fibromyalgia Legislation Day in Sacramento last Monday. Teams of patients and NFA representatives met with senators, assembly persons and their staffs to disseminate information about our illness and to garner their support for a bill that would recognize FM as a legitimate illness in the state of Ca. This action was prompted by a damaging article which appeared on the front page of the NY Times recently. This article quoted two doctors who doubt the legitimacy of fibromyalgia, and failed to mention the results of numerous recent studies which have proven conclusively that FMS is a disorder of the central nervous system. My experience was very positive. Each representative I met with knew of someone who suffers with FM and was very supportive of the bill.
Here's a link to an interesting article about a marijuana-based drug for fibromyalgia now available in Canada.
